HOW LONG WILL MY NAILS LAST?

This all depends on you! Gel lasts up to two weeks on most clients, but some can last up to eight weeks. Your lifestyle also dictates how long your manicure will last, as well as the state of your natural nail. Nails are jewels not tools.

WILL GEL RUIN MY NAILS?

Nope! When removed and prepped properly, your nails will not be damaged. Damage can occur from improper removal like picking/peeling your nails. This removes layers of your nail plate which weakens your nails and affects the longevity of future manicures! Boo.

HOW CAN I TAKE CARE OF MY NAILS?

1. The holy grail of at-home maintenance.. Cuticle oil. This will keep your nails hydrated and flexible to prevent breaks and lifting. It also stimulates nail growth, and prevents hang nails. Feels like a win-win to me!
2. Nails are jewels not tools! Picking/prying are a no-go zone here.
3. Wear gloves when cleaning. Water and cleaning chemicals will break down your nails faster.

WHAT LEVEL DO I PICK FOR NAIL ART?

Nail art is based on the length of time required, the complexity of the chosen design, and the materials used. Let me know if there is a budget we're working with. Under each level, there are examples to help you decide, and if you’re still not sure, you can always contact me for help.

HOW OFTEN DO I NEED TO BE APPLYING CUTICLE OIL?

Minimum twice a day. It’s so important to keep your nails hydrated especially in drier climates like Alberta. Cuticle oil helps maintain the hydration in your nails helping to keep them flexible and reduce chips/breakage.

NAIL HEALTH?

Your nails will be assessed at the beginning of the appointment to ascertain the health of your nails, and to determine whether we can continue with the service. In the event that a contraindication is present, you will be advised to visit a physician. I am a nail technician and not a doctor so I am unable to make a diagnosis. I will only provide nail services to those with healthy hands/nails.

WHAT IS IBX?

IBX is a nail strengthening and repairing treatment system that’s made to toughen, protect and repair the natural nail. Instead of treating problems just on a surface level, IBX works WITHIN and acts as a protective shield inside the natural nail, while targeting natural nail imperfections and weaknesses that prevent natural nails from growing stronger.

I incorporate strict procedures to ensure a clean sanitized work environment using hospital grade disinfectants for proper sanitization of all implements/surfaces, after each client.

Metal instruments: used in any nail services (cuticle pushers, nail

clippers ,cuticle bits, etc) are thoroughly sanitized after each service with hospital grade disinfectants which eliminates bacteria, germs and viruses.

One time use tools: All nail services include individualized nail files/buffers that are disposed of after each service. You’re more than welcome to take the service file/buffer home for personal maintenance.

Stainless pedicure bowl: Disinfected after each use, using hospital grade disinfectant that eliminates bacteria, germs and viruses.

The Manicured Mani does not issue refunds. I am happy to offer a complimentary nail fix within 3 days of appointment if gel starts to chip or lift. Please contact me to schedule a nail repair. Colour and design must be the same.
